The 41st Annual Middlebury Summer Festival Schedule

Friday, August 7th

11a          Vendors open

6p            Kids Parade – Register & line up at First Mennonite Church between 5:00 and 5:40. Judging will be at 5:45.
                Parade route leads from the church to the fire station.
                1st - 3rd place prizes for the categories of patriotic, nursery rhymes, decorated wagon/bike, decorated animal.

6-8p         Enjoy the sounds of Speakeasy. (Entertainment Tent) Rock, Top 40.

6:30p       Middlebury Mile – registration begins at 5:00 at the fire station.

6:30p      Garden Tractor Pull sponsored by Elkhart County Garden Tractor Pullers. (Railroad Street)
               Pre-register 1/2 hour before the event.

7-8p        Basketball with Coach Ridge. (East Park)

7-8:30p    Kids Games! A variety of games and prizes for kids. (Bristol Street) Coordinated by Pathway Assembly of God.

8:30-10p  The band Total Recall. (Entertainment Tent) Classic Rock

Vendors will remain open until the last band finishes up.


Saturday, August 8

6:30 -10:30a  Pancake & Sausage Breakfast. All you can eat. Sponsored by the Middlebury Church of the Brethren. (East Park Pavilion)

8a           3K & 10K runs and a 5K walk – registration begins at 6:30 & the races start at Middlebury Elementary.

9a
           Joe Graber Horseshoe Pitch – registration begins at 8:00. No cost. (Middlebury American Legion)

9a           Registration begins at the covered bridge of the Essenhaus for the 2nd Annual Fishing Tournament.
               Fish from 9:30-11:00, with open fishing until noon. Coordinator: Parks Department.

11a         Crowning of Little Sweetheart king, queen, prince, and princess. (East Park)

11a         Vendors open

1p           Registration begins for the 2nd Annual Strongman Competition. Sponsored by Atomic Fitness.

1p           Parade route goes from Middlebury Elementary School to the library. Grand Marshals: Glenn & Carolyn Miller.

Apple Corps Dancers from Debbie Werbrouck. (Entertainment Tent)
Classic Car Display (Behind Fire Station)

   Gymnastic Demonstration by Inspire Athletics. (Entertainment Tent)

           Boy Scout Middlebury Grand Prix Pinewood Derby. (East Park Pavilion)

           Strongman Competition begins. (Farmer’s Walk, Deadlift, Harnessed Truck Pull, Tire Flip).
               Sponsored by Atomic Fitness. (Beside Fire Station)

4:15p      Northern Lights Show Choir performance at the Middlebury Fire Station

      Presentation of Parade Awards. (Entertainment Tent)

      The Wannabees (Entertainment Tent) Northridge High School freshmen. Winners in the Heritage Talent Competition. Rock

6:30-8p
   The Rulli Brother's River City Band (Entertainment Tent) 70's & 80's music

           Karaoke Competition – registration Friday night 6-9p and Saturday 5p. Prizes: 1st place $75, 2nd place $50 and 3rd place $25.

Sunday, August 9

The 2009 Middlebury Summer Festival invites you to a bike ride where Middlebury’s beauty can be enjoyed. The 5½ mile family fun ride (good for kids) will begin at 1:00. At 2:00 a 20 mile ride for the more experienced rider will begin. Rides start and end at the Essenhaus. Call 825-5627 for more information.
